Project: Landcom Fit-out
The project Steel-Stairs recently completed was a new set of office stairs for Landcom at Eclipse tower in Parramatta. Landcom wanted a modern staircase, with a design that would stand the test of time.
The staircase design was neutral colours with clean lines and classic features. We worked with the ISIS the builder and Bates Smart as they were the architect to design the stairs. Steel-Stairs design team interpreted the engineers and architects drawings to create a workable solution everyone was pleased with.
Landcom is spread out over 2 floors in the eclipse tower for their main office. The contemporary stairs are used not only for functionality but to create an aesthetic atmosphere linking the meeting places and training space.
As the staircase builders for the project, Steel-Stairs were responsible for the installation of the modern stair, but also for the finishes, including the timber treads and risers, infill strips in the timber, timber handrail, glass balustrade and cladding on the void. Fire sprinklers were co-ordinated into the design by Steel-Stairs. The architectural stairs are made out of structural steel framing with decorative timber treads and risers, with a timber soffit coupled with a 16mm toughened starfire glass balustrade all contributing to a well finished designer piece.
Unique features on these commercial stairs include the hidden fasteners for the timber soffit glued on using ‘ hidden deck fasteners’ and the graceful shadow line between the treads and risers.
It was a fantastic experience for Steel-Stairs to be a part of this project and we are proud to add it to our portfolio.
